Hi Everyone,

I know I’m lame when it comes to keeping this page up to date so please forgive me.  So much exciting stuff has been happening. Our first show at the Fox Theatre on May 18th was a huge success and they invited us back to headline our CD Release Party on Friday June10th! We are soooooo looking forward to another show at the Fox! A big thank you goes out to everyone who came out and supported us!

Another big thrill was taping KBCO Studio C on Wednesday May 25th. We’ll find out soon when it will be aired.  I feel very fortunate to have been asked by Keefer to be a guest at Studio C.

I want to thank all of you who have helping to spread the word about our music. It really is by word of mouth that people get turned on to new music especially when people are passionate about their music and about sharing it.

Our Front Range CD Release Parties are coming up in less than two weeks so check the shows page for details.

I will be making my way back to the Midwest for some looping shows as well a few shows out in Vermont . We’ll keep ya’ll posted.

My band’s last show at the Fox Theatre from 5/18/05 should be available for download from www.archive.org any day now so feel free to burn copies and share them with friends!!!

My new CD Dragonfly is available online just click here. You can also pick up copies at Bart’s CD Cellar, the Funky Monkey and Albums On The Hill in Boulder . Also at Twist and Shout in Denver .

Thanks for listening.

Arthur Lee Land

P.S. At the 2004 Rocky Mountain Folks Festival Song School (www.bluegrass.com) I taught a class on “Looping” called “ENHANCE YOUR SOLO PERFORMANCE WITH LIVE LOOPING” I wrote a two page article as well as a signal flow chart for a looping setup that will be of interest to anybody getting into looping. Also there is some very valuable information for anybody using the BOSS RC20 Loop Station in this article. To read the article, click here.  To view the chart, click here.

Hi Everyone,

It’s time again for my belated current new page update.

It’s been two and one-half years since Wendy Waldman agreed to produce my new CD Dragonfly at the 2002 Rocky Mountain Folks Festival Song School and the fruits of our labors are at the manufacturing plant as we speak. This process has been an amazing one of self growth as an artist as well as an enriching experience of making music and friends with some incredible people. I am so grateful for the entire experience in making this CD and it is a true testament to team work and the principle of the whole being greater than the sum of its parts. I have to thank Wendy for believing in my artistry and bringing it all together. Also all the musicians who contributed their talents and Michael Boshears who engineered the project and spent endless hours tweaking and making the recording sound sooooo good. Last but not least Carol Lee for her inspiring gift with words.

We will be releasing Dragonfly on Perfect Groove Records in April and we’ll keep you all posted on CD Release Shows and ordering information.  Dragonfly is an all acoustic venture into a land of Afrograss Folk Rock featuring Joe Craven (David Grisman Quintet/Garcia-Grisman Band) on percussion/mandolin/fiddle, Mark Diamond (Big Swing Trio) on upright bass and Scott Babcock (Karla Bonoff) on drums/percussion with guest appearances from Michael Travis (The String Cheese Incident) on percussion, Herb Pederson (Old & In The Grey) on banjo, Greg Leisz (Joni Mitchell, Bill Frisell) on dobro, Kenny Edwards (Linda Ronstadt) and Wendy Waldman on background vocals and of course myself on lead vocals and all of the guitars.

I’m also excited to be performing live with my new band featuring Grant Gordy (vocals, mandolin & acoustic guitar); Mark Diamond (acoustic bass & vocals); Janet Guenther (vocals & percussion) and Ira Sweetwine (percussion).  You will be seeing a lot more shows with the band and I’m looking forward to experimenting with bridging the two worlds of solo looping and band performance.

It feels as though so many dreams I’ve been working towards achieving for so long are all coming true and I’m just grateful to be having so much fun doing what I love to do. I hope the music brings you as much joy as it brings those of us who made it.

Thanks for listening.

Arthur Lee Land

Hi folks,

I’ve been very slow in updating my news page but that gives me more to share with ya’ll.

Since my last post we have moved to Colorado and are enjoying our new pad in North Boulder . Being a part of the music community here has been an awesome experience.  It’s been so inspiring to be around so many great bands and players and it’s had a big impact on my music.

Many of you know about my teaching at the Rocky Mountain Folks Festival Song School and how incredible it's been for me to be a part of the Folks Fest. Well this last week it went to a whole new level. I played 4 times (as a sideman w/ Steve Seskin, Zoe Lewis and Brian Joseph) on the Main Stage as well as sitting in with Sunday’s headliner Peter Himmelman. Not to mention playing almost non-stop in the Wildflower tent with everyone who wasn’t playing while I was on the main stage.

My solo show in the Wildflower Tent on Saturday 8/14 afternoon was the most awesome show of my entire career!!!!!!!!  My thanks go out to everyone who was there. I was so blown away with the amount of love and enthusiasm that everyone there so generously bestowed upon me. We captured the entire show on a two camera video shoot and the audio portion of the show will be posted on my website for free download in the very near future!! So thank you all again for your incredible generosity!!!!

While I was at Song School I taught a class on “Looping” called “ENHANCE YOUR SOLO PERFORMANCE WITH LIVE LOOPING” I wrote a two page article as well as a signal flow chart for a looping setup that will be of interest to anybody getting into looping. There is some very valuable information for anybody using the BOSS RC20 Loop Station in this article. To read the article, click hereTo view the chart, click here.

My new CD is in the editing and mixing process and should be out by the end of the year. It’s turned out to be an all acoustic venture into the land of Afrograss World Folk Rock featuring Joe Craven on percussion/mandolin/fiddle (David Grisman Quintet/Garcia-Grisman Band), Mark Diamond on upright bass and Scott Babcock on drums/percussion with guest appearances from Michael Travis on percussion,  Herb Pederson on banjo, Greg Leisz on dobro, Kenny Edwards and Wendy Waldman on background vocals. The recording sessions were way fun and there was definitely magic between the four of us. Not to mention the incredible production of Wendy Waldman and engineering of Michael Broshears. I’m very excited to be able to share it with ya’ll as soon as it’s done.

I also played guitar on 17 tracks of Steve Seskin’s new live CD.  Steve is a wonderful songwriter and one of the instructors at the Rocky Mountain Folks Fest Song School . He’s written numerous hits for many country artists including Tim McGraw. This new CD really captures his essence and emotional impact of his live show. Check him out at www.steveseskin.com

I’ll be doing a Midwest tour in October and dates will posted on my show page when confirmed.

Thanks again for your support and helping to spread the word about my music.

Peace, Love and Phat Looped Grooves,

- Arthur Lee Land

July 2003

Hi Folks,

Last year was an incredible year with the highlight being playing with Steve Seskin for 4000 people on the main stage at the ROCKY MOUNTAIN FOLKS FESTIVAL after an incredible week of music and new friends at the Rocky Mountain Folks Fest Song School. I’m thrilled to say that I have been invited back this year to be on staff and play during the folks fest.  I will be taking my one man show on the road in August for a tour of Colorado.

Last year during the Song School producer and Grammy Award winning songwriter Wendy Waldman committed to producing my next CD and we have been in the process of pre-production for the last few months.

2003 has been quite a year so far and it seems to be getting better all the time.

Here are the highlights so far…

2/8/03 :  Playing with heavyweight songwriters Steve Seskin , Alan Shamblin, Don Henry and Christine Kane at the BLUEBIRD CAFÉ in Nashville TN during the National Folk Alliance Conference.

3/11-28/03:  AFE/USO Tour of the South Pacific. This was an incredible experience including WWII wreck diving in Truk Lagoon , Micronesia.

Check out my USO Tour photo page to see photos from the entire tour and click here to see a slide show of underwater photos taken of the Fujikawa Maru (the ship wreck I dove) and other ships that are sunk in Truk Lagoon. The woman who took these photos also wrote a very compelling article describing her experience with ghosts while shooting these photos. It’s a pretty amazing story and after scuba diving down 100 ft inside one of these shipwrecks I believe her story. To read it click here.

4/25/03 :  Playing guitar for legendary folk singer Tom Paxton at the Beverly Arts Center . Tom was a pleasure to play with and a master story teller and folk musician. I came away with a much deeper appreciation for his songwriting. I’ll be doing more shows when scheduling permits.

5/18-21/03: Preproduction for my new CD with producer and Grammy Award winning songwriter Wendy Waldman at her recording studio “The Long House” in Encino California .

Upcoming highlights:

8/4-26/03: COLORADO TOUR (Click here for dates)

10-12/03: Recording new CD.

10-11/03: Possibly showcasing a various NACA Conferences for college shows.

Confirmed results to be announced in by August.

It’s a very exciting time for us in the Arthur Lee Land camp and we appreciate your love and support. We are in the process of making the world our home and look forward to seeing you at a show soon.

Peace,

Love,

and Phat Looped Grooves
